Britannia and Lemieux Islands Water Treatment Plants – Waste Management Facilities

This project involved the simultaneous construction of two new facilities, one at each water purification plant, to process and treat wastewater generated from the existing water treatment facility. During construction, the existing facility had to remain operational at all times. The project not only included the construction of new underground structures but also the pouring of over 7,500 m3 of concrete at each location, extensive upgrades and modifications to the existing facilities, including concrete alterations to the mixing basins and settling tanks, modifications to the process piping, and upgrades to the facilities’ instrumentation and electrical systems.
