O’Connor Drive Water Reservoir and Pumping Station
The O’Connor Drive Reservoir is capable of pumping 26 ML/d of treated water from the reservoir and 8.6 ML/d directly from Zone 1 to Zone 2. The project involved the construction of a new water pumping station and an 8,500,000-litre glass-fused-to-steel water storage reservoir. Some project highlights included the supply and installation of a 44 kV load break switch, three 250 HP horizontal split case pumps equipped with variable frequency drives, two sound-attenuated 750 kW generators and associated switchgear, surge anticipating valves, new control panels, a motor control centre, instrumentation, and SCADA.
